9 Person arrested, firearms and grenade seized in Dumingag


DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (May 11, 2018) – The responding police operative arrested 9 persons and confiscated one firearms with ammunition and one hand grenade Thursday at 10:08pm in Purok 3, Barangay Bagong Valencia od this municipality.

A report received by the police operatives that armed men allegedly harassed the house of Barangay Chairman Marcelo Dalandao.

Upon receipt of the report, PNP personnel of station led by PO3 Jepe Y Bazar, together with augmented personnel of 902ND, RMFB9 proceeded to the reported place to verify the report.

Upon arrival of the responding team, barangay chairman MARCELO DALANDAO together with other persons guided the PNP personnel going to the boarding house of EX-Barangay Chairman Hermilina Japos Arbilon at purok 4, Barangay Bagong Valencia of said municipality.

When they arrived in the area, there were individuals in front of said house suddenly scampered to different direction after noticing the presence of police.

The responding team immediately alighted from the PNP patrol car and chased the evading persons and the other PNP personnel directly barged inside the house, consequently caught and arrested nine (9) persons identified as:
-MISAEL L. BATION, 40 years old; 
-ELMER C. MANGCAO,  56 year old;
-JONNY M. TAYONG, 24 years old;
-LEONARDO C. BATOCTOY, 38 year old,
-WILLIAM D. ALBAIRA, 35 years old;
-LEONARDO L. GUPIT, 42 years old,
-LITO M. JAPOS, 46 years old,
-RICO E. SAUCLUM, 43 years old; and J
-OEL A. BALURAN, 43 year old, all resident of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.

The following items were recovered inside the house of Ex-Barangay Chairman HERMILINA JAPOS ARBILON were:
-One (1) unit caliber 45 pistol with
-Nine (9) live ammunitions and
-One (1) unit hand grenade;

While other items recovered in the rice and corn mill building adjacent to said house are:
-one (1) unit caliber 45 pistol with
-Nine (9) live ammunitions; and
-one (1) unit caliber 38 revolver with
-Five (5) live ammunitions.

Arrested persons were temporary detained at Dumingag MPS lock up cell, while waiting for appropriate charges to be filed in court against them. (By JONG CADION)

Stabbing Incident in Dumingag

DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (May 6, 2018) – A stabling incident transpired at Barangay La Fortuna, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur Saturday at about 1:20am.  

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that on or about 1:15 AM of May 5, 2018, the victim identified as Dany Aranas, 40 years old married, construction worker and a resident of Barangay Maralag, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur together with the suspect identified as Rogen Aglet Bation, 30 years old, married, construction worker and a resident of same place.

Both victim and suspect were having a drinking session at said Barangay when an intense argument ensued between them that prompted the suspect to stab the victim with the use of a hunting knife, while the said victim managed to retaliate by smashing the suspect with a 2x3 hard object hitting on his lower jaw.

Victim sustained one stabbed wound on the part of his stomach and was immediately rushed to Molave Medical Center, Molave of this province while the suspect was brought to LTMPC Hospital, Mahayag of this province for their immediate medical treatment.

Dumingag MPS investigator PO1 Fabian Francisco with contact no. 09504080180 is now conducting follow-up investigation. Motive of the incident is still to be determined. (By JONG CADION)

1 died 3 wounded in vehicular accident in Dumingag

DUMINGAG,Zamboanga del Sur (May 2, 2018) Vehicular traffic accident transpired at Purok 6, Barangay Dulop, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:30 am on May 1, 2018.

The vehicle described as one (1) UV Foton drop side, color white, bearing plate number 090107.

The driver identified as John Totesora Valben, 30 years old, married, and resident of barangay Pangi, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay with three passenger identified as Marilou Balbastro Mansenero, 35 years old, Crui Marl Mansenero, 3 years old, and Joven Ivan Totesora Yap, 16 years old, all resident of Barangay Pangi, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The said vehicle was loaded with 100 sacks of soya and traversing from Dumingag municipality this province going to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

In the initial investigation, the vehicle upon reaching at the hilly portion of Purok 6, Barangay Dulop, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur the driver lost its control over his driven vehicle due to mechanical problem (brake malfunction) as alleged by the driver. The vehicle swerved and fell down into the hilly portion of said place.

As a result, the victim Mrs. Marilou Mansenero, died on the spot while the driver along with other passengers sustained serious injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to Sindangan Medical Hospital, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte for immediate medical treatment.
