Shooting Incident

DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 5, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired in front of Atty. Gretchen Mae Ortega residence at Purok Lerio, Brgy. San Pablo, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:40pm, November 4, 2018.

The victim was identified as Rhoem Rey M. Bontoyan, 40 years of age, married, teacher assigned at Dumingag National High School (DNHS) Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and a resident of Brgy, Maralag, Dumingag, Zamboangfa del Sur.

He was shot by unidentified suspect. The said victim sustained gunshot shot wound on the right leg.

Recovered from the crime scene are one piece fired shells believed to be of caliber .45 and to be turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for Ballistics Examination.

Damage of Property Caused By Whirlwind
On November 4, 2018 at about 4:00pm, The person of Marlon I. Gregorio, LRRDMO reported that a Damage of Property caused by whirlwind transpired along National Highway of Purok 3, Barangay Maganay, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The store of Remedios Azucena, 51 years old, married, businesswoman and Eddie Lapuhapo, 50 years old, single both resident of above mentioned place including shanty’s house roofing were destroyed by the whirlwind.

Initial investigation conducted that at about 3:15pm of same date the store of Remedios Azucena and shanty, house were destroyed by the whirlwind and the three electrical posts (ZAMSURECO) collapsed that caused the power interruption.

However, no one was reported casualty/injured in the said incident. The estimated damage is Seventy Thousand Pesos (Php70,000.00).

Shooting Incident

DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 31, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at the National Highway, Purok 4, Brgy Mahayahay, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 8:20pm of October 30, 2018. The PNP elements of Dumingag MPS proceeded to the area to verify the said report.

Thereat, the responding team saw a male person lying lifeless later identified as Rogelio Dumahil Jamora Jr., 45 years of age and resident of Purok 5, Brgy Dulop, Dumingag alongside of the cemented road and his driven single MC Honda Dream 100, color black that crashed down. Based on the statement of a person who heard the series of gun burst.

He was at his residence together with his family and was watching over the television, when they heard a series of gun fire coming from the uphill location adjacent to their residence.

Therein, they waited and stayed inside their house for a few a minutes and thereafter went out to personally report first the incident to their barangay captain since their place had no CP signal.

However, on their way they passed by the above said victim who was already lying alongside the cemented road together with the crashed down single MC prompting them to went back and look for a place with cellular signal and reported the incident to Dumingag MPS.

Further, the said victim sustained multiple gunshot shot wound on the different parts of his body causing his death. Recovered from the crime scene are two pieces fired shells believed to be of caliber .45 and to be turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for Ballistics Examination.   

This station is now conducting a thorough investigation to determine the possible motive behind the incident that may led to identification of suspect/s.

Escapee charged with Double Homicide, Arrested in Zamboanga Del Sur


DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 3, 2018) - Joint elements of Dumingag MPS together with team Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Forces Company and 902nd RMFB9 successfully arrested the escapee during the conducted Manhunt Operation at Purok 3 Brgy. Macasing, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 5:00am of November 2, 2018.

The operating team identified the arrested escape with double homicide asBernabe Lumawas y Tulay alias “Mario” was Said wanted person was sentenced for the crime of Double Homicide and an escapee of San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm located at Brgy. San Ramon, Zamboanga City last May 12, 2013.

The operating team was recovered from the possession were one unit caliber .38 revolvers with no serial number loaded with six ammunitions.

The arrested wanted person was brought to Dumingag MPS for proper disposition.
